“eCherga” for Passenger Cars: When Will the Electronic Queue System Be Launched at the Border, and at Which Border Crossings?
The “eCherga” electronic system for passenger cars is set to launch in the summer of 2026 at two border crossing points. Find out when the official launch will take place, where the system will go live first, and what the plans are for its expansion
The implementation of the “Electronic Border Crossing Queue” (“eCherga”) system for passenger cars is in its final stages. The launch is scheduled for two border crossing points in the summer of 2026. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
“We are currently planning for two border crossing points. We are finalizing technical preparations and will announce the launch date shortly. It will definitely be this summer,” he said.

What will happen after the pilot launch?
After analyzing the results of the pilot launch, the system will be gradually expanded to other border crossings. The final list of subsequent locations will depend on:
● infrastructure readiness;
● traffic volume;
● test results at the first two checkpoints.
“The strategic goal is to make the electronic queue available at all key international road crossings,” Kuleba emphasized.
For those who are already traveling abroad by car, please note that the Green Card is a mandatory document for crossing the border. You can apply for it online without waiting in line via Visit Ukraine.
We remind you! Ukraine is preparing to introduce a tolling system—payment for the use of road infrastructure. The Ministry of Development is already considering several possible models, including vignettes and a tiered system for different categories of vehicles.
