One of the most beautiful panoramas, which opens onto almost the entire main Black Mountain range, is the view from the Kostrych ridge (1586 m), which is also part of the above-mentioned massif.

It is worth going to Kostrych in order to fully appreciate the greatness of Montenegro, which stands very close - at a distance of one deep descent and one steep ascent. To understand what a height of two thousand meters really means, come here. In front of you is a mountain and a cloud hangs over it. And when the wind drives her to you, it already seems that she is somewhere out of space, although I definitely just saw how she was clinging to the slope of the nearby ridge.

Kostrych is a ridge parallel to Montenegro. If you follow it all, then at first you will be next to the queen of the Ukrainian Carpathians, Mount Hoverla. But you may be even more impressed by the view of Mount Rebra and Spitsy. Go look for such a steep ascent in the Carpathians, as under Rebramy, and the relief of this mountain is truly unique.

In March and April, the meadows of Kostrych bloom profusely with a thick carpet of crocuses. And Kostrycha is a paradise for mushroom pickers. Mushrooms in the local forest - a sea! Just have time to collect in advance with local mushroom pickers. The harvest time is the end of September and the beginning of October, when there are so many mushrooms that the persistent thick smell of mushrooms hangs in the air and you inhale it along with the coolness of the forest. Only a lazy person will not try to get off the path and find his white mushroom!

Technical information:

1. Description of the route... At 08:00 the group gathers at the central station of the city of Yaremche. From here we go by bus/car to the starting point of the hiking trip - Kryvopilsky Pass.

2. The length of the route is 14 km.

3. The duration is approximately 6 hours.

4. The difficulty is easy 

5. The tourist route is designed for an average group of physically healthy people.

6. Participation in the hike does not require prior training or experience.

7. It is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol during the ascent and descent.

What to take with you on a trip?

1. Identity document: passport/driver's license.

2. Comfortable waterproof shoes (preferably mountain trekking boots with high lacing and a "vibram" type protector).

3. A windproof jacket with a hood, preferably waterproof, windproof pants that do not hinder movement, a warm sweater or a "fleece" type jacket, headgear (hat, bandana), raincoat.

4. Spare set of clothes.

5. A capacious, preferably light backpack

6. Water

7. Food: you can take high-calorie foods, such as nuts, dried fruits, dates, raisins, dark chocolate.

8. Individual first-aid kits (necessary medicines that you use).

Cost:

  - for an individual tour - 2210 UAH;

  - for a group of 2-4 people -  2200 UAH;

  - for a group of 5-10 people - 650 UAH from the person
